Our first full day in Newfoundland

Slept like a log and woke late in the morning . . . it was wonderful. Brunch with the family and drank copious amounts of coffee. When I say family, it is includes: Craig’s parents and his sister her husband and their two kids. It’s a full house, relaxed-family atmosphere, and everyone has someone (or two) to hang out with.

I went for a hike with my sister-in-law at Mad Rocks, one of my favorite places. We hiked in the rain, drizzle, and fog – a true Newfoundland experience. We ate wild blueberries along the path. The smell of the air was fresh, cool, and slightly salty due to the Atlantic Ocean, with a fragrant mix of flowers and evergreens. There were several rocky beaches where I spent time searching for unique rocks and was not disappointed.

The rock collector is me, down by the sea.

  1. so glad you made it safe and had a restful night sleep! Sounds like you are in your element! I'm sure beardo is too! I'm in Wisconsin today and met a New Foundler in Tampa airport. Thought that was ironic and also sat next to a physician from India. Is that a weird kinda sign? Guess more and more signs that you are right on track. He said that the place you are going to tin India is beautiful and less populated. He lived there for a while.
