Ode to August's Last Day

It started out cool and gray for August’s last day
But a couple of layers kept the chill at bay

By afternoon the sun was a bloom
Keeping us warm and in a good mood

A drive along the coast side
To our Souls delight, we felt right energized

Dropped-in a café and filled our tummy
With biscuits and tea . . . oh so yummy

Took in the view with water so blue, atop rocky bay
Tossed a rock or two and laughed at the spray

Then on to winding roads to where we didn't know
Enjoying the ride, picturesque countryside

On our last stop, high on a mountain top
We picked wild berries, hidden between the big rocks

Came home relaxed and glad to be alive for yet another day
